Ever go camping and after packing everything you realized you forgot a cup? It’s quite the challenge trying to figure out how to squeeze a 16 oz cup into a spot that’s smaller than the size of a baseball. Or have you ever gone to a water fountain, and the pressure was so low you nearly had to suck on the spigot? Having a small cup on hand would have been a life saver! Below are couple different portable duct tape cups you can make to solve these problems.
Collapsible Cup
This is a perfect cup to take along camping!
Go here for directions on how to make this cup from Instructables.
Folded Cup
I made this cup by taping two 8″ X 8″ squares of duct tape together and folding according to these directions: origami cup.
To make the square, I started by laying out strips of tape on my cutting mat that were a bit longer than 8″ and overlapped each other by 1/2″. Then I cut the edges to have perfect 8″ X 8″ squares.
I then removed each square, taped them together, and then sealed the edges with another piece of tape. I cut off the excess tape on each side before sealing the adjacent edge.
After folding, I taped over each fold to prevent any leaks. An 8″ X 8″ square yields a 4 oz cup.
If you don’t have a cutting mat like above, here is another way to make these cups.
